Freshers' Week in UK

A lengthy entry on how I spend my Freshers' Week.
Don't pout, as you can see, I was busy.

The first day of class in UK! The lecture hall was humongous enough to hold 220 students and was well-equipped with superb sound system, high technology projection screen and wonderful lighting system! The only flaw to the ideal system was the seating, which was quite troublesome for those with itchy butt or a bad bladder. There is also a risk of getting a footprint in your back or kicking the innocent person in front.

I was lucky enough to squeeze in with the fun of super saving shopping in the much anticipated student event of the year, Student Locked-in. In this student event, all participating outlets in The Bridges, the mall in the area, would be giving out an extra 20% discounts on their available stocks! Besides the discounts there were other activities such as lucky draw and free food samples given out! Krispy Kremes which is soon to be opened in The Bridges gave each person a dozen of donuts! I didn't managed to get any but a few kind-hearted friends donated their donuts and so, I didn't miss out after all!
Also, got to know my new Japanese housemate and her cute friend - Tomoko-chan and Sayuri-chan!

Freshers' Week was a time in which all university clubs are opened to welcome new members! Besides the clubs, there were also other companies there to sell their products/ services - this means more freebies!

I wasn't lucky enough to win anything but managed to grab a Nando's voucher for a free half chicken and enjoyed it as my lunch and dinner for the day.

Today, is Friday. TGIF! When a little shopping in town and bumped into a food fair! Everything smells so good and the price was as good, good enough to me to turn my back on those tempting food! Sad.

Well, got some Olympics sourveniers for my family and save one Mendiville cuddle toy for myself!

Have you heard of Monster High? I read about this interesting and relatively famous range of dolls which was inspired by monters in the newspaper long ago but never had the honor to see one in real life. Today I unexpectedly tumbled into a few here in Wilkinson! The dolls looks more sinister and creepy in real life than in the pictures!

The final activity of the day was one organised by the HKMAS (Hong KOng and Malaysia) Club in remembrance of the sweet time we have in Malaysia playing lantern and eating mooncake for the upcoming mooncake festival. There was a group lantern making competition which I am proud to announced that the winner was none other than my group. Good work peeps! 

And so, the weekends to come and the following week to come, more surprises or maybe just another studying day...
