York Trip 2012

York, another of my favourite city in the UK since my visit 2 years ago! However, this visit seems different, the atmosphere and the feeling  just isn't the same. The city seemed a lot smaller than i remembered and the shops aren't as fancy and as charming as before...

It was a busy Saturday, despite the almost unbearable cold, the city was packed with humans! We took a long walked back and forth the city, visiting famous landmarks and when the weather became too chilly we decided to hunt for a warm place to sit in, which brought us an extra few circles around the city as most of the shops are packed with people like us.

Our final stop, a church which was having a Christmas event giving out free drinks and refreshment and a sweet Christmas Carol!

Durham Dance Fusion 2012

Today I experience the perks of of my Uni life - Dance Competition! I haven't never been to an event like this before and all I can say is... It was really an eye opener!

First, Durham is a beautiful little town! The little rows of shops and trees along the road with the cathedral not too far off and the river by the side, it was a beautiful sight! I was lucky to have the opportunity to walk around a bit but missed out on pictures! BUt I promise I will be back again!

Next, the competition! There were dance squads from other neighbouring varsities - York, Newcastle, Lancaster, Durham, etc. The spectators were mainly contestants and so the little hall was flooded with either girls with super heavy makeup or in tutus or costumes. And the best part was, of course, the performances! I was really spell bounded by most of the performances! Every single team put out all their efforts and gave us a remarkable performance!

Anyways, here are a few glimpses into the competition!

The Lovely City of Edinburgh

I don't know why but Edinburgh seems to call out to me every time I set foot there...
The antique monuments, the dreamy castle, the ancient architecture with a modern touch. Everything (except for the price) about just seem so out of a dream!
My first trip there was short but memorable as the sunset view of the whole city (the city is located located in some what of a valley) as we drove to its central was spectacular! However, everything magnificent was eaten by the darkness as soon as night falls...
I managed to make up for the lack of my first visit on a ONE DAY tour trip organised by the Student Union Connect!

 On the way to Scotland

So much to see! Floating Yoda

Birth place of Harry Potter (the book)!

 Scottish Hachiko - Greyfriars Bobby
 Marvelous Autumn Scene

 3D Model of the City

Man in Scottish Costume blowing the Bagpipes

 The iconic Scot's monument

The place where it all started and ended, the same place my family and I lodged in 2 years ago!

Most of the photos are from the museums in the castle! Scotland have a strong military background, courageous soldiers who sacrificed for their country are immortalised here. I also managed to witness the Scottish sceptre and the crown, still shiny and enchanted after many centuries! Unfortunately no photos allowed for that.
And so my trip ends here! Wonderful place! I' ll definitely be back one day!
